Deposit the Work is a lifestyle application that features healthy recipes, workout programs created by Sanders, and a shop for fitness apparel.
Sanders stated that Sanders' lifestyle philosophy is based on Sanders's belief that the larger picture of your life is made up of the small things you do every single day.
The app has a system that tracks points earned from active calorie expenditure, active mileage covered, referrals to family and friends, purchase of activewear on the app, and training consecutive days. After accumulating a certain number of points, users can withdraw the cash they have earned and it goes straight into their bank account. For consumer convenience, the app has been pre-integrated to Apple Health and Fitbit.
Sanders suggested that Sanders's idea may sound too good to be true.
He stated that he would like the app to be seen as a virtual gym membership and subscribers could earn their money back.
In June 2019, Sanders started Deposit the Work as a personal trainer. He quickly added the clothing line to the business. He knew that he wanted to turn his business into an app. Sanders recalls that he reached out to developers in April 2020. Sanders and his team had been working tirelessly on the bootstrapped venture since its launch in January 2021.
Deposit the Work charges a monthly fee and offers two additional workout programs as an upgrade. Cut and Build are available for 6-12 weeks.
Sanders explained that "Cut" is for people who want to reduce their body fat percentage and "Build" is for those who want to build muscle. There are hundreds of workouts to choose from and a video explaining each one.
The workouts are both comprehensive and challenging. You can choose to do different levels of each exercise. He said that Deposit the Work is a great option for both beginners and more advanced athletes.
The app's nutrition section contains over 100 recipes, with options that can be made vegan-friendly or keto. Sanders explained that the app will keep updating its recipes throughout the year in order to offer fresh, seasonal meals.
Sanders stated that the app calculates each user's recommended calorie intake and macro intake based on their goals. It all depends on your age, height, and weight.
"... Many people confuse nutrition with being difficult. It is clear that you can have the lifestyle that you desire and not eat chicken and rice every single day. Nobody wants that.
What are macronutrients or macros?
The building blocks of nutrition are macros, also known as carbohydrates and proteins. Macro counting is used to understand the source of calories and their effects on the body.
Sanders shared that Sanders has always valued his health and fitness. He also mentioned how his training became more serious after he was offered the chance to play football at South Dakota State University.
Sanders said that he was training for the NFL when he injured his hamstring during pro day. "So, I returned to Kansas City in 2015 and have been training people ever since -- from 5-year old kids to 80-years-old women.
Sanders shared that within the first few weeks after the app was launched, it was rewarding to see people dive deeper into their personal fitness goals using the technology.
Sanders stated, "It's great to see everyone enjoying it." People who used to hate working out now love the app. It motivates them to earn cashback and pushes them further. This is important as the sooner we invest in our health, the better we will be later in life.
